Binapani Das, 1924-2007 (By Bibhuti Mazumder)

Mrs. Binapani Das, popularly known as "Masima" in the community, died of a house fire on May 23, 2007. She was 83 years old. She is survived by her son Swapan, three daughters Rita, Surita and Bula and nine grandchildren.

Born in February 1924 in India, Mrs. Das migrated to the US in 1980, after her husband Dr. Nirmal Kumar Das passed away.

Mrs. Das understood fully the gospel of love. She practiced it with all her heart. She stretched out her hands and embraced everyone. So everyone became her own. An unique blend of compassion and simplicity shaped her charming character and blissful personality.

Mrs. Das was a great devotee. She worshipped the Lord with all her heart and energy. She surrendered completely to the Supreme and raised her consciousness to the divine level. Her whole being was transformed and lifted into the unity behind the diversity of the manifested universe. By the realization of this unity and universality of the spirit, pain and suffering came to an end. Joy and peace filled her whole life.

May the soul of Mrs. Das rest in peace and may the mercy of God be upon her whole family for ever and ever.
